Hello! My name is Michelle Whittaker and I am a member of the Democratic Central Committee At-Large.
In January 2023, I was nominated and affirmed to serve on the MCDCC Rules Committee as co-chair.
For the last 20 years I’ve worked with national and local nonprofits as a strategic communicator and grassroots organizer. I’m proud to be part of progressive movements in the DMV region helping to train new leaders, advance inclusive democratic reforms, and elect progressive Democrats to office.
I’m proud to serve on the Central Committee because:
- As a parent, I want to empower future leaders, like my daughter and her friends to be civically engaged.
- As an electoral reform advocate, I want to build public awareness around democracy reforms and expand our Central Committee’s work to educate and mobilize Democrats on policy issues.
- As a neighbor, I want to continue to make a difference in my community to help increase voter registration and participation in elections.
This is how we expand the power and reach of the Democratic Party locally and statewide.
I am a long-time local advocate on issues like education, voting, and housing. I’m a renter living in Kensington with my partner, Doogie, our daughter, London, and pet frog Tomato.
Looking forward to connecting!
